Bubo Privacy Policy

Effective: 2 September 2026

Bubo is a private, non-commercial personal assistant operated for a single user. This policy explains how Bubo uses Google account data.

Data accessed

With the owner’s authorisation, Bubo may access Gmail messages and metadata and Google Calendar events and metadata.

How data is used

Google account data is used only to provide requested personal-assistant functions, including monitoring unread mail, assisting with email actions, producing calendar briefings, and managing calendar events at the owner’s request.

Storage and retention

OAuth credentials are stored privately on the owner’s local system. Bubo may store limited local state, such as message identifiers needed to prevent duplicate notifications. Google email and calendar content is not maintained as a public database and is retained only as needed to provide the requested functions.

Sharing and sale

Bubo does not sell Google user data. It does not share Google user data with advertisers or unrelated third parties. Data may be processed by infrastructure providers only as necessary to operate the assistant.

Security and control

Access is restricted to the owner’s private assistant environment. The owner can revoke Bubo’s Google access at any time from the Google Account security settings.

Google API Services User Data Policy

Bubo’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
